React2 and QMU Nominated for Prestigious Award
React2 has been nominated for the second year running for the Sustained Partnership Award with Queen Margaret University (QMU) at the Interface Excellence Awards 2014.
Developments with with QMU in 2014 have included:
The React2Sentences application, developed in 2013-14, to provide a comprehensive set of carefully graded sentence level exercises for people of all ages.
React2Conversations, an innovative multi-platform video app (for iPad, Android, PC and Mac) providing a suite of interactive conversational videos. This is due for release in early 2015.
React2USA – a linguistically principled translation of the entire react2 suite of exercises appropriate for use in the USA. Due for release 2015.
An intern is currently assisting with the filming and production of the vignettes at studios within QMU. Two versions are under production, for the UK and the USA markets.
Our relationship has stimulated research and development in using React2 in clinical practice. React2 formed part of an intensive communication group project that took place at the QMU Campus in summer 2013 and 2014. The project involved students working with people with aphasia and their communication partners using the React2 software in a variety of one-to-one and group settings. Outcomes from these sessions have helped to inform functionality changes within the program.
